Dave Renard (52-40-16) begins his seventh season as head coach and his seventh overall as part of the program. He served the first two years as an assistant for his wife and former head coach Sara Renard in 2009 and 2010.
Renard led the Cavs to an 10-6-4 overall record last year and a berth in the GLIAC Tournament for the second consecutive season. The Cavs were 4-4-3 in conference action and recorded the fewest goals per game in program history with the help of eight shutouts. Walsh advanced to the semifinals for its best finish ever in its final season as a member of the GLIAC. The Cavaliers advanced that far after an 2-1 upset win over Ashland on the road. In 2011, he led the team to a 13-5 record. The 13 wins tied the 2007 squad for second most in the programs history.
He previously served as a staff coach at Canton/Cleveland United. Renard holds an NSCAA National Diploma passed with distinction.
He previously served as an assistant soccer coach at both Stow High School and Cuyahoga Falls High School, while he served as a financial operations manager at Xpress Loan Servicing. Renard played baseball and soccer at Northern York High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He lettered four years in soccer at Malone College while earning All-Conference and Team MVP honors. He earned his BA in business administration from Malone in 2004.
David and his wife Sara reside in Stow with their two daughters, Mia and Marie, and son, Tyler.
