WOMEN'S GOLF JUMPS 5 SPOTS ON DAY TWO OF CAV CLASSIC

CANTON, OHIO- The Walsh University Women's Golf team hosted their annual Cav Classic, April 11-12 at Glenmoor Country Club. The 15 team field battled wind, rain and cold weather over the shortened event. Terrential rain on Monday would cause the event to be shortened to 36-holes.  The Cavaliers would make a day two push and jump 5 spots up the leaderboard to finish in seventh place overall.

SCORES: 332-312

FOR THE CAVALIERS:

  • Madison Ardelean and Maria Contreras Luna guided the Cavaliers with 36-hole totals of 157.
  • Ardelean posted rounds of 79-78 and Contreras Luna added rounds of 83-74.
  • Senior, Isabelle Castro, followed right behind her teammates after posting a 36-hole total of 158. She tallied rounds of 82-76.
  • Grace Thompson was next in line for the Cavs after tallying a first round 88 followed by a second round 84.
  • Alexis Green rounded out the line up for the Maroon and Gold with scores of 91 and 86.
  • Francesca Sberna(85-91), Maddie Owens(86-91) and Emma Knisely(100-103) also competed in the event as individuals. 

The Cavaliers head to Lexington, KY to compete in the G-MAC Championship April 18-19 at The University Club of KY-Big Blue.
