Carter Tabbed D2CCA Regional Player of the Year and First Team All-American

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Senior Sha Carter continued to develop her resume on the court as a Cavalier player as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) named their All-Region and All-American teams during the NCAA Tournament. 

Carter was named First Team All-Midwest Region and Midwest Region Player of the Year before advancing to the All-American ballot. As voted on by the sports information directors of Division II, Carter earned her second All-American honor - this time as a First Teamer.

As a senior, the reigning Great Midwest Player of the Year averaged 18.9 points (1st in the G-MAC) and 8.8 rebounds (4th in G-MAC) per game while shooting .572 overall (2nd in the conference). Carter's season field goal percentage is the 6th best season percentage in the program. The junior also compiled 3.0 assists and 2.2 steals per game, while ranking 2nd in the conference for steals and 9th for assists. For the season, Carter had 28 double-figure scoring games, ten 20+ point contests and 11 double-doubles with two 30+ point games. 

This season saw Carter reach a program-record 622 points and 251 field goals made. She ranked fourth in rebounds with 291 in a season. She was named First Team All-Conference and All-Defensive Team by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. 

She now has three D2CCA All-Region awards, including two First Team nods along with an Regional Player of the Year. Her First Team All-American honor is her second as she was Honorable Mention in the 2019-20.
