SHA CARTER BECOMES FIRST PLAYER IN PROGRAM HISTORY TO REACH 2,000 POINTS AS WALSH BEATS OHIO DOMINICAN

COLUMBUS, OH- The Walsh University Cavaliers won their 16th consecutive game Thursday (February 24th) as they defeated the Ohio Dominican Panthers by a score of 68-54. Walsh bounced back in the second half after being down seven at halftime. The Cavalier defense proved dominant in the second half as they only allowed the Panthers to score 17 total points.

FOR WALSH:

  • G-MAC Player of the Week Mayci Sales led the Cavs with another double-double including team-high 24 points and 12 rebounds
  • Sha Carter also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Carter's 12 points pushed her over the 2,000 point milestone, becoming the first player in program history to do so. 
  • Senior guard Lexie Scarton dished out a game-high seven assists and grabbed five rebounds for Walsh
  • Walsh dominated the rebound war 40-18

FOR OHIO DOMINICAN:

  • Gabby Stare led the Panthers with 25 points as she shot eleven-of-seventeen from the floor
  • Kennedy Schlabach added 15 points, including three treys
  • Bailey Wiliams grabbed team-high eight rebounds
