(NASHVILLE, TENN.)- Walsh (20-22, 9-13) was swept on the last day of regular season play by the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene (29-15-1, 15-9) by scores of 14-6 and 9-1.
Walsh came out swinging in Game One scoring three runs in the first inning. Annie Woolf singled to score Alaina Manor who reached earlier in inning on a double to right center. Woolf was then able to come around to score on a pass ball. Katie Gray singled to second scoring Brooke Six to finish off the first. Down 6-3 in the fourth inning Jessie Rock hit her second homerun of the road trip to score Alex Depue and Katie Gray.
Gray was 3-3 with an RBI while Rock and Woolf were 2-4. Rock had 3 RBI and Woolf has 1 RBI.
Olivia Pifer (13-10) took the loss in the circle giving up 14 hits and eight runs while striking out two.
Walsh again jumped out in front in the first but was unable to keep the offense going. The lone Cavalier run came off a walk by Abbey Yaugher with bases loaded.
Shelbi Gregg (2-9) started Game Two scattering nine hits and giving up five earned runs.
Walsh will fall short of making the GMAC tournament. The Cavaliers finished with an overall record of 20-22. In their inaugural season in the GMAC, Walsh finished with a record of 9-13.
