Men's Soccer Picked Seventh in Great Midwest Preseason Poll

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - With the 2022 season starting in ten days, the 2022 Great Midwest Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll was announced on Monday (August 15) afternoon. 

Following an appearance in the 2021 G-MAC Semifinal, the Cavaliers were voted in seventh place by the head coaches, gaining 49 points. 

Head coach Andy Hoggarth, in his seventh season, returns 22 from the team that went 12-5-3 overall and 8-4-2 in the conference. Despite losing the top two scorers, Walsh has six of the top eight scorers back and nine of the 13 players that scored at least one goal. Jake Cunningham is the lone All-Conference returner from 2021. 

The season opens on August 25 as Walsh plays host to Slippery Rock at home, starting at 6:00 PM. Conference play begins on September 8th against Ashland at Larry Staudt Field.
