Storm Overpowers Cavs 3-1

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh fell in a physical, hard fought contest against Lake Erie by a count of 3-1 on a calm fall evening at Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers fell to 5-9 overall and 3-9 in the conference with the loss. The Storm improved to 8-4-2 overall and 7-3-2 in the GLIAC.

Lake Erie Struck first as Ryan Gibson dribbled around a Walsh defender just outside the left corner of the box before he took a solid strike that went to the lower right 90 of the goal in the 22nd minute. It was the only goal scored in the first half.

The game sped up just as the final third began with the Storm making it 2-0 on a Stefan Martin goal with an assist from Alfred Majer in the 62nd minute. The Cavs quickly got back into the game as a fresh Lucas Dunlap scored 24 second later thanks to an assist from Michael Saddler.

The Storm put any comeback hopes away as Joseph Munaretto scored unassisted at 79:03.

Lake Erie controlled the tempo of the majority of the game and outshot the Cavs 21-8. They also held a 7-3 edge on corner kicks.

The Cavs will be back at home on Sunday as they play host to Ohio Dominican. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
