MEN'S GOLF FINISHES 7TH IN LOADED FIELD AT FINDLAY

FINDLAY, OHIO- The Walsh University Men's Golf team finished in 7th place overall at the Doc Spragg Invitational hosted by the University of Findlay. The 54 hole event was played at Findlay Country Club and consisted of a loaded field of East region schools. After 36 holes on day 1 the Cavs would find themselves tied for 8th place overall. A windier than normal day 2 would have the Cavaliers battling from start to finish. They would end up moving up one spot at the completion of the 54 holes. The Cavs shot a 54 hole total 881(296-290-295). 

FOR THE CAVS:

  • Junior Kyle Buzaki paced the Cavs after finishing tied for 12th overall. Buzaki tallied rounds of 72-69-75.
  • Buzaki would lead the field after Day 1 with 11 total birdies between Round 1 & Round 2. 
  • Noah Frase was next in line for the Cavaliers after finishing tied for 20th overall. 
  • Frase put back to back rounds of 71 together on day 1 to finish 2 under par. Frase would add a final round of 76.
  • Freshmen Max Crookston would add rounds of 76 and 77 on day 1 for the Maroon and Gold.
  • Crookston would go on to record a personal and collegiate best 3 under par, 69, for his final round of the tournament. 
  • Brandon Netzel and Brandon Jatich would round out the top 5 with rounds of 77-75-75 and 79-75-80 respectfully. 

The University of Indianapolis would take home the team title after firing a 54 hole score of 13 under par.

The Cavs take the weekend off and prepare for their next event, the Kyle Ryman Memorial at Mohawk Country Club October 4-5.
