Hanzak Leads Cavaliers at OBC #2 Event

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's bowling team returned to action at the 2nd Ohio Bowling Conference event on Saturday (Oct. 23) at HP Lanes in Columbus, Ohio. 

The Varsity team was sixth of 14 teams while the JV team finished tied for 2nd of 11 teams in the team standings. The varsity team totaled 6997 total pins for the day with 3958 pins from individual games and 3039 pins in the Baker games. The JV ended the day with 6604 pins overall, with a 3600 individual game total. The Baker games for the JV squad totaled 3004 pins, the highest of all teams in the competition. 


In the four individual games, Ryan Hanzak led the Cavaliers with a total of 876 pins (219 average) as he finished in 7th place. Hanzak had the high game of the day and the season at 258. Saturday's first team game was the highest of the day and the season (1035). 

The team totaled 3039 pins in the 16 Baker games, while averaging 189.94 overall. The best Baker game for the team was 245 in the sixth game of the day. 

Junior Varsity

Matthew Hull had the best day on the JV side of the ledger. Hull totaled 750 pins in four games, averaging 187.5 pins while finishing in 42nd place. Hull was tied with Zachary Eble for the highest game of the day at 232.  962 was the highest team game for the Cavaliers in game two. 

In the Baker games, Walsh had 3004 pins knocked down with a best game of 221. The team averaged 187.75 pins per game. 

The Cavaliers will return to the lanes on October 30 and 31st at the AHBA event.
