  • Cavaliers Place 173 on G-MAC Academic All-Conference Team

    The Great Midwest Athletic Conference officially announced its Academic All-Conference Team Friday afternoon with another record number of student-athletes. Walsh University was responsible for 173 of them in its first season in the league as a full member.
  • Track & Field Already Looking Forward With Strong Incoming Class

    Coming off of a spectacular national championship meet in Charlotte, Walsh is already looking forward to the upcoming season with the signing of 31 student-athletes to the incoming freshman class. Included in the Class of 2018 are 16 women and 15 men. Many qualified for state meets and two won state championships last weekend.

    Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season were announced Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

    The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced its Athletes of the Week and Walsh’s Kaitlyn Barber and Mark Hadley have been honored. Barber earned accolades for the women’s field section, while Hadley did so in the men’s track section.
  • Field Athletes Shine At Cedarville Open

    The Walsh track & field team was back in competition again at Cedarville’s Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open today. The Cavaliers sent a strong contingent of field-only athletes and came away with impressive results with both the men and women scoring 40 points in the team standings.
  • Cavs Complete First Day of Raleigh Relays, Berger Qualifies For Nationals

    The Walsh track & field team traveled to North Carolina for one of the biggest meets of the year regardless of division in the Raleigh Relays. Only a few Cavaliers were in attendance, but they put up some impressive times with automatic and provo marks obtained.

    The Walsh Track & Field team continues to bring in more honors as a pair of Cavaliers were named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week. Both Kaitlyn Barber and Marcus Myers earned the accolades for field athletes after setting new conference records.

  • Six Heading Back To Nationals, Women Remain Ranked No. 12

    Six Walsh All-Americans will be returning to the national championships in a week and a half after the official qualifiers were announced Tuesday. For the women’s team, who retained its No. 12 national ranking heading into the championships, five Cavaliers will be participating in three events, while the men’s team will send one representative.
  • Walsh Inducts Eight Into Wall of Fame

    The original date may have changed, but the memories made and remembered were just the same as eight new members of the Walsh Wall of Fame. The Class of 2017 was one of the most diverse groups in terms of sports with eight different sports being represented. Men's Tennis and Men's Basketball both have two representatives going in. A women's tennis player gives that specific sport three. Two inductees, Johnston and Vincent, played multiple sports.
  • Men's XC Eighth, Women's XC 18th Nationally in Team GPA

    The USTFCCCA announced its men’s and women’s All-Academic teams and both Walsh teams have achieved the honor for the fourth consecutive year. In addition to that, 13 Cavaliers earned All-Academic Individual honors.

    Student-athletes at Walsh don’t always have a lot of free time with studies and sports, but when they do it’s common to find them giving back to the local community. This has recently been on display heavily in the last two months.
  • Wall of Fame Ceremonies Postponed To Feb. 10

    The Walsh Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony for this evening has been cancelled because of potential weather threatening the area. It will be rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10.
  • Walsh To Induct Eight Into Wall of Fame

    Walsh University is proud to announce eight new members to the Athletic Wall of Fame as part of its 35th class this January. Those being inducted include Nicole (Baumgardner) Murpy, Kristen (Cady) Senk, Ryan Contini, Jeff Johnston, Jason Hamilton, Adam Lesch, Andy Schon, and Paul Vincent.
  • XC/Track & Field Adds 15

    Head Coach Rob Mizicko has announced the addition 15 student-athletes who will further their academic and athletic careers with the Maroon and Gold for the 2018-2019 season. The group committed during the early signing period and features numerous All-Ohio athletes and state qualifiers.
  • Peters, Himes, Ajala-Alexis Named OCSA All-Ohio

    The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association has released its All-Ohio teams and three Cavaliers have been named to the 2017 edition. On the women’s side, Olivia Peters and Alisha Himes were selected after leading Walsh to its best season in program history. On the men’s side, Jean-Paul Ajala-Alexis was named after a breakthrough rookie season for the Cavs.
  • Cross Country, Track & Field Teams Rack Up Awards

    More postseason awards have come in for Walsh cross country and track & field with the All-Ohio Coaches Association as well as Accusplit announcing end-of-year accolades. The cross country honors were for this past season while Accusplit announced awards for the 2016-17 season.
  • Barber Qualifies For Nationals at Golden Flash Gala

    The Walsh track and field teams wrapped up the calendar year with the Kent State Golden Flash Gala over the weekend and had plenty to be excited about. There were quite a few athletes who placed, but the highlight of the day was Kaitlyn Barber qualifying for the indoor national championships already in the pole vault.
  • Walsh 11th in First Learfield Director's Cup Standings

    The first set of fall Learfield Director’s Cup standings have been released and Walsh currently sits 11th in the nation after the cross country and field hockey championships complete. The Cavaliers currently have 116.6 total points and are the top-ranked team from the G-MAC and second-ranked team from the Midwest Region.

    Both the men’s and women’s teams are now ranked in the top 15. On top of that, Sarah Berger has been named the Midwest Region’s Women’s Athlete of the Year while Head Coach Rob Mizicko has been named the Midwest Region’s Men’s Coach of the Year.

    Walsh had a lot to be excited about on Selection Monday as both men’s and women’s cross country teams are officially in the national championships in two weeks. Of course the women were automatic qualifiers after their third place finish at the regional championships, but the men had to wait until this afternoon after finishing fourth.

  • Cross Country Jumps In National Polls

    One day after moving up in the regional rankings, both Walsh cross country programs moved up in their respective national rankings. The women’s team rose up one spot to No. 9 after its debut in the top 10 a week ago, while the men returned to the top 25 at No. 19 after dropping out last week.
  • Women's, Men's XC Jump Two Spots In Respective Polls

    The Week 5 Regional Rankings have been posted by the USTFCCCA and Walsh was able to jump up in both the women’s and men’s polls after tremendous finishes at Lewis this past weekend. Both teams were able to move up two spots with the women’s team now at No. 2, while the men’s team is now situated at No. 4.
  • Both Cross Country Teams Remain In Top 25

    Both Walsh women’s and women’s cross country programs remain in the top 25 in the USTFCCCA National Coaches’ Poll after a bye-week from competition. The women’s team dropped two spots to No. 19 while the men’s team remained at No. 25.
  • Cavaliers Cross Country Stays at No. 5 in Both Polls

    Heading into the All-Ohio Championships, both Walsh men’s and women’s cross country teams remained at No. 5 in this week’s USTFCCCA Midwest Region Poll. The men are the topped G-MAC team ranked in the region, while the women are the third-highest of the G-MAC schools.
  • Men Stay At, Women Jump To No. 5 Regional Ranking In XC

    After impressive performances at the National Catholic Meet at the University of Notre Dame, both Walsh’s men’s and women’s cross country teams have been ranked fifth in their respective regional poll by the USTFCCCA.
