Year: 2016-17
Team: Women's Soccer/CrossCountry/Track

It would be easy to make an argument for Berger as the best athlete to ever wear a Cavalier uniform after her accomplishments this past season. She earned All-American honors three more times to bring her total to five for her career. On top of that, she was an All-Region selection in four different sports this season (soccer, cross country, indoor track, outdoor track).

She finished runner-up at the outdoor national championships in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:19.14. That followed a third-place finish at the indoor national championships in the mile with a time of 4:42.38). Berger was also a member of the distance medley relay team that had the fourth-fastest time in Division II history at 11:20.61. Because of her efforts, the Cavaliers were able to finish ninth nationally at the indoor championships and 20th nationally at the outdoor championships.

Elsewhere, she helped the women's soccer team advance to the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament, its best finish in its duration in the conference. As a defender, she helped Walsh record eight shutouts on the best defensive team in program history.

Less than 24 hours after playing in the GLIAC semis, Berger traveled to Evansville, Ind., to help cross country finish ninth in the region out of 32 teams and finished No. 22 individually with a time of 21:30.28.

Berger was also named a GLIAC Commissioner Award Winner, GLIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Year, GLIAC All-Academic Excellence selection three times, an OCSA Academic All-Ohio selection, NSCAA NCAA Division II Women's Scholar All-East Region Team selection, and broke eight school records this season.
