Berger became the Cavaliers' second two-time NCAA First Team All-American after she placed nationally in the indoor mile and the outdoor 1,500 meter run. She was the national runner-up in the 1,500 and recorded the second-fastest time in the country in the event with a time of 4:21.25 to set a then-GLIAC record and win the GLIAC Championship. Berger finished second to Olympic Trial qualifier Emily Oren.
She was also a two-time NCAA All-Region runner in the 1,500 meter and the 3,000 meter steeplechase, NCAA National Qualifier in four events, and Provisional Qualifier in six. She was All-GLIAC in four events, set nine new school records in 2016, and went undefeated in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
On the soccer field, Berger was an NSCAA Division II All-Midwest Region Team selection. She was also named to the OCSA All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio teams. Berger scored two goals as a defender and helped Walsh record four shutouts as a defender.
Berger also excelled in the classroom as she was named an Academic All-American by the NCAA, USTFCCCA, and Capital One CoSida.
