Kenny Kornowski had been named the 2012-13 Male Athlete of the Year.
Kornowski, a first-team All-GLIAC selection, averaged a career best 20.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and shot 57% from the field, 36% from three-point, and 72% from the line. He started every game for the Cavaliers and scored 535 points. Kornowski scored in double figures 25 times with a season-high 31 points in an upset win of GLIAC North Division leader Wayne State University. He scored 20 points or more in a single game 15 times, and in the last nine games of the season. He was named GLIAC South Division Player of the Week in December. Kornowski was tabbed a 2013 Bulletin All-America Honorable Mention and to the 2013 NABC Coaches’ Division II All-District Team for the Midwest Region. Kornowski scored 1,289 career points (14.0 ppg) and grabbed 688 career rebounds. A Finance major, Kornowski carries a 3.364 grade point average. Walsh finished 18-8 overall, and second in the GLIAC South Division with a 14-8 record.
