Brad DuPont (Sr., Massillon, OH/Jackson/Wheeling Jesuit) has been selected as the 2013-14 Male Athlete of the Year. DuPont will be recognized on Saturday, September 6 at halftime of the Walsh/Tiffin University Football game at Fawcett Stadium at 12 pm.
DuPont earned second-team All-GLIAC honors on Walsh’s (22-6, 17-5) South Division co-championship team. Brad, the Cavs’ starting point guard for three years, led the GLIAC in assists (5.8) and was second in NCAA ll in assist/turnover ratio (3.8). He averaged 8.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, shot 45% from the floor, 40% from three-point, and 77% from the foul line. He also led the Cavs with 31 steals. DuPont scored a career-high 21 points against Ferris State, and scored in double figures in ten games. Brad handed out 12 assists against Northwood, and grabbed 11 rebounds against Malone in Walsh’s Mayors’ Cup win. He earned three letters from Walsh after transferring from Wheeling Jesuit.
