Dee Dent, Walsh's long running synchronized swimming coach enters the Wall of Fame. Dent coached the Cavs from 1993 to 2002 and from 2005 until last year. Dent brought synchronized swimming to Walsh in the 1980's as a club sport and was named Head Coach when the sport was elevated to varsity status in 1993. Walsh was one of only seven varsity programs nationwide when the sport received varsity status. Dent's most successful team earned a fourth place finish at the USSS National Championships in 1998. The Cavs finished fifth in 1996, and tied for 10th place in 1995 and 2001. Dent spent three weeks at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, helping to manage the practice pool. In August of 1995, she received the George Harvey Service Award as part of her election to the Greater Canton Aquatics Association Swimming Hall of Fame.
