Nancy (Biggums) McPherson played basketball for the Cavs in the golden years of the early 1980's. The 5-10 Biggums was recruited by Wall of Fame Coach Missy Long, and lettered four years for the Cavs (1983-87). Biggums turned out to be one of the finest post players in Walsh history, joining teammates Shannon Schrock, Marcy Harper and Joy Cornachione in the Wall. Nancy, the Cavs all-time leading rebounder (1,082), is also the leader in career rebounding average at 10.5 rpg. In 1984-85, she grabbed a career-high 204 defensive rebounds. Also an outstanding scorer, Biggums totaled 1,463 points, second on the all-time list at her time of graduation. Biggums left second in career field goals (594) and third in FG% (.461). She was a first-team All-GOAC selection in 1984-85 and in 1985-86 and was a second-team choice in 1986-87. Nancy earned first-team All-District 22 accolades twice (1984-85, 1985-86) and was honorable mention in 1986-87.
