Walsh Remains In Top 25 In USTFCCCA Week 1 Poll

(NEW ORLEANS) – The USTFCCCA has released its Week 1 National Coaches' Poll and the Walsh Cavaliers continue to be ranked in the top 25 for both programs. The women's team jumped up two spots from the preseason poll to No. 11, while the men's team remained at No. 19.

Both teams finished at the top of the non-Division I standings at the National Catholic Meet hosted by the University of Notre Dame. The Cavaliers dominated both races with Mark Hadley and Andra Lehotay being named G-MAC Athletes of the Week as the top runners in their fields.

Walsh's men and women are both remained highly in the region as well. The men's team stayed at No. 4 while the women jumped one spot to No.3 after switching places with Southern Indiana. The men are the highest ranked team from the G-MAC, while the women are one spot behind Hillsdale in both polls.

The Cavaliers return to action next week when they race in the All-Ohio Championships hosted by the University of Akron.
