(NEW ORLEANS) – The Walsh women's cross country team will go into next weekend's regional championships as a top 10 team nationally after coming in at No. 10 in this week's polls. The Cavaliers received 131 points in the voting process after coming in second at last Saturday's G-MAC Championships.
Cal Baptist remains at the top spot after receiving all eighth first place votes. Grand Valley State was a unanimous second place choice. Adams State, Alaska Anchorage, and Chico State round out the top five teams in the nation.
The Cavs did dip one spot overall in the polls after Hillsdale won the conference championship and rose two spots to No. 8.
Walsh will attempt to qualify for the national championships next weekend in the regional championships at Cedarville University. The top three teams in each region automatically qualify with more teams to be selected at-large.
