Cavs' Four-Match Win Streak Snapped By Storm

(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – The Walsh volleyball team's four-match win streak was snapped by divisional foe Lake Erie 3-0 at the Osborne Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (5-6, 2-1) suffered their first conference defeat by scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-19 at the hands of the Storm (8-3, 3-1).

The Maroon and Gold jumped out to an early lead in the opening set by a score of 13-7 after an attack error by the Storm, but they were able to get back into the set and eventually take the lead at 17-15. The Cavs answered by taking the next point on a service ace, but could get no closer as the Storm kept the momentum with the next three points.

The Storm started the next two sets with early leads and held off late rallies by the Cavaliers.

Lauren Loucks led the Walsh attack with 11 kills on 26 attempts. Olivia Zanolli provided 24 assists on the day. Defensively Amanda Adoranti totaled 18 digs.

Walsh will look to rebound this Friday when the Cavaliers host Davis & Elkins. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
