Women Ranked No. 17 in USTFCCCA, Men Hovering Around Top 25

(NEW ORLEANS) – The Walsh women's track & field team is ranked No. 17 heading into the Division II national championships in Charlotte, N.C., next week as announced by the USTFCCCA today. The Cavaliers are also ranked No. 5 in the Midwest Region ahead of the final event of the year.

On the men's side, the Maroon and Gold rose up to No. 30 hovering outside the top 25. They too are ranked regionally coming in at No. 6.

For the women, it's the 11th time Head Coach Rob Mizicko's squad has been in the top 25 for the outdoor season and seventh consecutive week this season. Earlier this year the Cavs set a new program-best by being ranked No. 12 in the nation.

Lincoln (Mo.) tops the rankings list on the women's side after jumping up to No. 1 last week. Pittsburgh State, West Texas A&M, Saint Augustine's, and Adams State round out the top five.

For the men the top five remained the same with Pittsburg State leading the way followed by Tiffin, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas A&M-Commerce, and Adams State.

The championships will take place in Charlotte on May 24-26.
