Wheeling Jesuit Defense Too Much For Cavs

(WHEELING, W.Va.) – The Walsh women's lacrosse team played its final road game of the regular season, but it didn't end well as Wheeling Jesuit won 17-4 in a GLIAC contest Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 5-4 on the season and 2-2 in the conference. The Cardinals are 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the GLIAC.

The Cavs had troubles with a solid Cardinal defense that allowed just one goal in the first 50 minutes. That goal came from Brianna Moss (Fr., Brunswick, OH/HS) on a free position shot that tied the game at 1-1 with 25:23 left in the first half. From there, Wheeling Jesuit scored 16 consecutive goals to put the game away. Steffi Zepp (Fr., Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman), Aly Jajack (Fr., North Canton, OH/Hoover), and Maria Nobile (Fr., Westerville, OH/Olentangy Orange) also scored goals for Walsh.

Walsh returns to action on Tuesday against Notre Dame College. The game was originally scheduled for March 25, but was postponed. The non-conference game is set to start at 6 p.m.
