Tiffin Too Much For Cavs

(TIFFIN, Ohio) – Walsh was able to play for a half with Tiffin before a second-half shutdown by the Dragons led the way to a 21-7 defeat of the Cavaliers. The Cavs are now 4-3 on the season and suffer their first conference loss to fall to 2-1. The Dragons improve to 4-8 on the season and are now 2-1 in the GLIAC.

Tiffin the game on fire and rushed out to a 6-1 lead midway through the first half. Walsh responded with five of the next six goals scored to make it a 7-6 game as the two teams headed into halftime. That was about all the offensive momentum the Cavs could sustain in the game as Tiffin dominated the second half and outscored Walsh 14-1.

Ivy Meloy (Sr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH/HS) and Steffi Zepp (Fr., Dublin, OH/Coffman) led the Cavs' offense with a pair of goals. Mo Chalko (Fr., Mentor, OH/HS) reached double-digits in saves with 13.

Walsh returns to action against Franciscan on Tuesday in a rescheduled game from earlier in the year. That matchup is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
