Nobile Scores Six Goals in 20-10 Win over Ursuline

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) Behind a 14-point second half power surge, Walsh improved to 2-0 in the GLIAC with a 20-10 win over Ursuline College (2-5, 0-2). The Cavs improve to 4-2 overall.

The first half played to a 6-all tie, as five different Cavs scored in the opening stanza. Maria Nobile (Fr., Westerville, OH/Olentangy Orange) tied the game at 1-1 at the 29:30 mark, and then gave a Walsh a 6-3 lead at the 12:03 mark. Ursuline would tally three times in the final 6:22 to tie the contest at the half.

Steffi Zepp (Fr., Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) gave the Cavs the lead for good at 7-6, as Walsh scored the first four goals of the second half.

The Cavs scored in bunches, as Zepp, Brianna Moss (Fr., Brunswick, OH/HS), Nobile, and Holly Axline (Jr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) all tallied within four minutes to give Walsh a 10-6 lead.

Nobile put the ball in the net six times, and handed out four assists. Zepp scored five goals and Moss tallied four.

Nobile now leads the Cavs in scoring with 17 goals, and 21 points. Her six goals in a single game represent a career high. She tallied five goals against Baldwin-Wallace.
