Balanced Attack Helps Cavaliers Slay Dragons

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – A quintet of Cavaliers scored in double figures to help Walsh defeat Tiffin 82-79 to help cap Wall of Fame Weekend on Saturday afternoon.  Walsh moved to 10-10 overall on the season and 6-7 in conference play.

Brooklyn Wooten led the way for the Cavs with 17 point and eight rebounds off the bench.  Brittni Clopton added 14 points, while Alex Hochstedler, Jalynn Graham and Alison Butler all added 11 points each.

There were seven lead changes in the game before the Cavs extended their lead to 14 near the end of the 4th quarter. The Dragons rallied back and a last season buzzer beater cut it to a three-point game.

Senior Bre Nauman, with 20 points and 11 rebounds, led Tiffin as it moved to 5-13 overall and 3-10 in conference.

Both teams shot about the same from the field, but Walsh controlled the glass by a 42-30 advantage. The Cavs also dominated the paint offensively and outscored the Dragons there 36-20.

Walsh travels to Findlay on Monday to play the Oilers. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
