(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The Walsh women's basketball team wrapped up its games against the GLIAC's North Division with a 70-53 loss to visiting Saginaw Valley. The Cavaliers fell to 8-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference, while the Cardinals improved to 10-3 overall and 6-1 in the GLIAC.
The Cavaliers scored in double-figures as Brooklyn Wooten led the way with 18 points. She was 7-of-13 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Brittni Clopton added 11 points with six rebounds and two steals. Alex Hochstedler tallied 10 with four boards.
Saginaw Valley also placed three in double-figures with Katelyn Carriere scoring a game-high 23 points. She proved difficult to stop as she was 7-of-18 from the field and 4-of-9 behind the arc.
Despite the loss, Walsh finishes .500 or better against the GLIAC's North Division for the third consecutive season.
The Cavaliers are now off a week as they prepare for the South Division slate of the schedule. Walsh will cap a four-game home stand then as it hosts Lake Erie a week from today. Tip-off with the Storm is set for 1 p.m.
