(ROMEOVILLE, Ill.) – A strong core of teams competed in Lewis' Conference Crossover this morning and No. 19 Walsh finished well amongst the group with a seventh place finish in a field of 27. The Cavaliers had a team score of 233.
Jacob Kernell was the top Cavalier thin clad to cross the line and did so with a time of 25:28.1 in the 28th position. Jacob Caniford wasn't too far behind and finished 33rd at 25:35.50. Spencer Wirick completed a Walsh trio that finished near the top with a time of 25:40.50.
Jacob Turner and Noah Murray finished back-to-back to complete the team score for the Maroon and Gold. Turner came in 69th overall and 67th in the points system with a time of 26:04.60. Murray was one position back at 26:05.90.
The Cavaliers are now off for two weeks and will return to action in Pittsburg on Saturday, Oct. 20. It will be an important meet as it will give Head Coach Rob Mizicko's crew a preview of the course where the national championships will be held.
