    Former Walsh Cavalier Lamar Skeeter is having a busy month with the Utah Jazz during the NBA Summer League season. The Assistant Coach of Player Development recently served as the head coach for the team’s off-season playoff game against the Orlando Magic late Thursday night.
  • Vaudrin Selected to DII CCA All-Midwest Region Team

    The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) Men’s Basketball All-Midwest Region Team has been released and Walsh’s Chandler Vaudrin has been named a Second Team selection. Vaudrin (6-7, 200, Uniontown, Ohio/Lake) had perhaps the best sophomore season of anyone in the country with 15.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game.
  • Jeff Young To Guest At Spring Nike Basketball Clinic In Pittsburgh

    Head Coach Jeff Young of the Walsh men’s basketball team will be a guest instructor at the 2018 Spring Nike Championship Basketball Clinic to be held at Duquesne University in April. Coach Young will be amongst an elite group of coaches to attend the event and will teach a session on the opening day.
  • No. 2 Cavs Upset In Quarterfinals By No. 7 Storm

    No. 2 Walsh fell in its G-MAC quarterfinal matchup against No. 7 Lake Erie by a score of 76-67 at Findlay’s Croy Gymnasium on Thursday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 19-8 while the Storm moves on to tomorrow’s semifinals at 16-13.
  • TOURNAMENT CENTRAL: Walsh Men Enters As No. 2 Seed In G-MAC

    Walsh returns to postseason play tomorrow as the No. 2 seed in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by the University of Findlay. It’s the 35th time in program history that the Cavaliers have made the postseason since the program started in 1962-63.

    The All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference honors were given out tonight at the pre-tournament banquet this evening and three Walsh Cavaliers have earned accolades. Darryl Straughter was named Freshman of the Year, Chandler Vaudrin was selected to the First Team, and Bo Furcron was named to the Honorable Mention Team.

    Walsh fell in its regular season finale with a 67-60 defeat at Lake Erie in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers (19-7, 14-6) had its four-game win streak snapped at the hands of the Storm (14-13, 9-10) and must wait until Saturday’s Findlay-Hillsdale game to learn its tournament seed.

    The Walsh men’s basketball team vaulted three spots to No. 6 in the second week of the Midwest regional rankings released today by the NCAA. The Cavaliers (19-6) picked up two wins last week in regional play in contests at Ohio Valley and at home against rival Malone.

For the Cavaliers (19-6, 14-5), not only do they keep the hardware awarded to the winner, but they gained a valuable win over the Pioneers (19-8, 12-7) who were ranked ahead of them in the first regional polls.

It was the final game before Christmas for the Cavaliers (6-3, 3-2) and improved to 7-0 all-time against the Fighting Scots (1-5, 0-3).
