(MIDLAND, Mich.) - The Walsh men's basketball gear up for its final two-game trip to the Lake State with games against Northwood and Lake Superior State this weekend. The Cavaliers (7-2, 2-2) will look to get back in the W column with the Timberwolves (2-9, 1-2) first as the two square off Thursday at 8 p.m.
This will be the ninth game all-time between the two schools. Walsh has not played a team from the GLIAC's North Division more than they have against the Timberwolves. The all-time series is tied 4-4.
The Cavaliers are lead by Zac Carter and Trey Fletcher, one of the best 1-2 punches by any team in the GLIAC. Carter enters with 21.1 points per game while Fletcher scores 20.8 points per game. Both have already been named GLIAC South Division Player of the Week once this season. Chandler Vaudrin leads the team in rebounds with 7.3 per game.
Northwood is coming off of an 88-72 non-conference win against Albion. Matt Crowl leads the Timberwolves with 12.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Both teams have had one common opponent so far in Cedarville. The Cavs defeated the Yellow Jackets on the road 78-73 back on November 17, while the Timberwolves fell 73-61 at home two days later.
