Walsh Renews Rivalry With Cedarville

(CEDARVILLE, Ohio) – Former and future rivals will meet once again on the hardwood as Walsh takes on Cedarville in a non-conference regional affair. The Cavaliers look to remain unbeaten at 2-0 while the Yellow Jackets stand at 1-1.

These two teams are now stranger to each other historically as this will be the 85th meeting all-time. The Cavaliers lead the series 45-39 after they defeated the Yellow Jackets 71-63 at home last season. It was the first game between the two rivals since the 2011-12 season when both teams went to different conferences the following year.

The Cavaliers are recently coming off a victory over Malone in the Mayors' Cup. It was Walsh's 10th consecutive Mayors' Cup win and 10th consecutive win over Malone.

Zac Carter currently leads the team with 21.5 points per game while Andy Brunet has come off the bench to control the boards with eight rebounds per game. Cedarville is led by J.C. Fubion with 14.5 points per game. Dazhonetae Bennett leads the Jackets with seven rebounds per contest.

Cedarville is currently a member of the G-MAC of which Walsh will be a member of next season.
