Cavs Cruise By Rochester 15-3

(AUBURNDALE, Fla.) – Walsh tied an early season-high in runs in a 15-3 victory over Rochester (Mich.) College in the penultimate day of action at spring break in the Sunshine State. The Cavaliers (7-2) pounded out 17 hits in the victory against the Warriors (4-11).

Everybody in the starting lineup recorded at least one hit with the top seven hitters recording multiple hit games. Johnny Knight provided the biggest punch as he recorded four RBI with a pair of hits and two runs scored. Three of them came on a bases-loaded triple in the third inning where Walsh rallied for six runs and a 7-1 lead.

Luke Caple and Jordan Grubb also had multiple RBI days with a pair of hits and three runs scored between them.

On the defensive side, Hyatt Shenefield recorded the win with five strong innings where he struck out four. He allowed one run on five hits before Nick Bebout and Anthony Krokos took over in relief with two innings each. Bebout added two strikeouts with Krokos tossing one.

Walsh will take on Lewis of the GLVC Saturday to close out its games in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. First Pitch with the Flyers is set for 12:30 p.m.
